We are pleased to announce m50/Area for the next livingroom.fm show November, 22nd!
This year, m50 has been busy in the studio and the club, with tour dates extending to Taipei and Tokyo and a new label project in Kimochi Sound. As well as his deep club sets, his mixes have also featured on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe podcast, on Moscow’s RTS FM, San Fransisco’s Pop Your Funk podcast and on KFAI Minneapolis. Simultaneously, m50 continues to host & manage his long running Chicago program, etc radio, this year featuring exclusive sets from artists like Hrdvsion (Canada); Mesak, Saine (Finland); Myown, Yaroslove (Russia); Kassem Mosse, Andy Vaz, Peter Grummich, Ron Deacon, Strobocop (Germany); Rich Jones, Ross McMillan (UK); DJ Lgcc, Lady Blacktronika, Let’s Go Outside, DJ_S, MadTeo, Tevo Howard, Kevin Reynolds, Noleian Reusse, Hakim Murphy and Specter (USA).
Under the Area guise, he’s produced heady, spacious music with a balance of abstraction and dancefloor appeal. He’s released several EPs, including a 12″ for Mindshift records Seattle and two on Kimochi, and has contributed remixes for Anton Zap (Russia), Overcast Sound (Canada), Catalepsia (France), DJ Spider (US), Superlauncher (Germany), Cyan 341 (UK), and Samaan (UK). Some highlights: a production appearing on the Resident Advisor podcast, a label feature on for Tokyo’s Diskunion shop, and the beginning of production on a collaborative multimedia performance.
